Botox^TM has become one of the most sought after cosmetic procedures available today.

It is commonly used for treating wrinkles and lines, such as "crow's feet" and forehead lines or worry lines. It may be ideal for treating other lines such as neck or lip lines. In addition it is used in our clinic for treating excess sweating, particularly of the armpits. Some migraines may also be alleviated with this treatment

It is a simple treatment, which involves the injection of botulinum toxin (Botox and Dysport are trade names for this toxin). The procedure is quick and uses a very fine needle in several specific locations. Pain associated with these injections is minimal and no local anaesthetic is required.

Treatment is very safe if performed in expert hands. Dr Bellaney has been performing Botox^TM treatments since 1996, making him one of the most experienced practitioners of Botox^TM in the country.

The initial treatment usually lasts 3-4 months. Subsequent treatments tend to last longer and in most people last 4-6 months or more. Thus only 2-3 treatments are generally required each year to maintain the results.

The treatment is safe with no serious side effects. Unwanted side effects such as slightly droopy eyelids, are rare and always temporary.
